Homecoming 2013

Yes it's that time again! It's so different from when I went to high school! My teen went with her friends over the weekend. We had a super busy one too! She agreed to a mini photo shoot with me the day before. Yes and thank you! After running around to different locations, a football game, dropping boys (our Shelties) off at sitter, a soccer game an hour away and taking Graciella to her friends with her dress... I was finally on my way to Tucson (almost 2 hrs away!) solo. Our two younger girls had a soccer tournament all weekend!

Here are some shots of my beautiful girl. Oh and just in case any one was interested in her having her  model clothes or accessories for your company?? Please send me an email. *wink*wink She has legs for days! And gorgeous thick hair! Just sayin'. =)

I absolutely LOVE this last photo! This reminds me of a magazine ad perhaps for the dress?!!

Hope your weekend was a great one!

Water Day

Finally! The girls have been looking forward to this day (Tues. for Lele & Weds. for Antonia) for weeks! The kids get to spend 3 hours running around outside on huge inflatable slides! They also have games, snacks & music too!  The kids love it! All this can only happen if you read 100 hours before May 1st. Not hard right? If you can believe it, some kiddos didn't reach this. I don't want to get into why but it starts at home. 'Nuff said!

1. Lele & her bffs 2. Antonia leaving for school. Yes my girls indulge me to snap a quick pic! 3. Goodies from Michaels / Project Life. Love my 60% off yellow ceramic strawberry container! 4. Antonia & her shades. too cute! 5. Our boys. Are you LOVING Elsie & Emma's new app on IG?!

Happy day!

Sock Hop

My 6th grader has wanted to go to the school Sock Hop for years. And every year is the same, we have soccer games or tournament. But this was the year! She was on cloud nine! She went w/her friend & had fun and indulged me in the process. She loves me!

(edited w/instagram)

What do you think? The first 3 are my absolute favorites! I wish we could dress like this again. Who wants to bring it back w/me? I'm sure in time, the style will be back... like all others. ;)

National School Choice Week

This was a huge deal for my girls & their charter school! The school celebrated w/a flashmob, music, speeches by US Senator Jeff Flake, State Senator Andy Biggs, Nick Lowry (Hall of Fame football kicker), balloon launch & more!

A quick lunch for Antonia & I on way to her dr's appt! It seems everyone is getting sick again!

It rained on/off in the afternoon! So happy it stopped after we parked & had to walk a few blocks! The celebration continued in Phoenix w/more speakers & the Jonas Brothers!

We almost didn't make it because my girls weren't feeling great & we were running out of time! I left it up to them, made the drive & made it on time! (didn't even have to fly down freeway!)

Now they can say they saw the Jonas Brothers close up! They sang a bunch of songs too! I thought they would sing a few but not an entire concert's worth! #sohappyformygirls

Happy Friday night!

Lake Pleasant

Today was a crazy day (do I ever get off this track?) & it started w/a field trip to Lake Pleasant. We've never been so I was excited. A total of five - 5th grade classes went from the girls' school and I choose to ride on the bus. (the girls' school have zero buses, so for field trips: either you drive or ride on the charter bus. It was nice to not worry about the long drive & traffic on the way back and just relax.) I usually skip the bus because it makes me nauseous. It was all good today though!

Oh wait! Before I can go into that... even before we got to school, I had to make a u-turn & go back home. my 8th grader forgot her project on counter. This meant she was going to be late. Not good. This meant that I wouldn't have time to pick up something for breakfast & take my insulin either.

Made the trip, made it to school just in time for my 5th grader to be on time. Parked, ran upstairs, spoke to teacher & I had time for food! Yes! I'm telling you, it never gets boring around here. =)

Hard to believe that just a mountain separates these two
views!

my mama & her bff

The kids were excited to see the wild burros on the way out!

Antonia 'needed' to add to her duct tape collection so we stopped by Michael's before heading home. By this time: we spent so much time walking in the AZ sun & mini-classes: I needed a quick pick-me-up! *plus I got a real bad headache. Ugh! We ran up to Little Caesars for dinner & yes, this mama didn't have to cook. Antonia & I caught the last 10 mins of Donna Salazar's Tuesday Tutorials. It's live & we chat away too. Tonight we won the last prize! (mom's super fast typing did the trick!) Whoohoo! Then it was showers, homework & bed. And now here I am, it's real late & I'm typing away.

Thanks for hanging in there w/me. Enjoy your day!
Sweet dreams.

Travel Abroad

Hello again! It's great to be back! =) My 2nd grader needs YOUR help in order for her Travel Journal to see the world! I can send out asap but would love for it to start far, far away. We live in the US & if you're interested, you can email me your mailing address at: callelillycafe @ me . com

All that is required is that when you receive it, you can write, tape a photo, draw, anything that is appropriate for a 2nd grader from your country/state & then send to a friend. Think of it as a traveling Smash It book for those of you who scrap! I cannot wait to see where her book travels to! Anyone who wants to decorate or add to cover: feel free! The complete directions will be inside her journal. This book can travel from today until April 2012. Oh, the places it'll see. We're excited!! The emails I receive, I will have Leleanna pick from the bunch!

**if you receive & need someone to send to, please email me. I'll have an address to give you from all the emails. If not, send to friend that'll be happy to help us!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sketch 247

I created this 12x12 layout using #247 on the Pencil Lines sketch blog! If you haven't tried using sketches, try it & you'll be hooked. Takes all the guess work out of the question: where do I start? I used the sketch but fit it to my photo & rotated the sketch. See what I mean? Works for everyone!

The sketch also forced me to keep it simple. This I like. I used papers & 3D stickers that were in my kit. This photo is from the first day of school (which was only last week!) I love all the colors! =)

I am loving my Martha Stewart punch! {the blue of the paper darkened in Picnik. ??}

My old school handmade button: embossed chipboard w/2 diff patterned papers.

What are your thoughts? I love sketches. Did I mention that? ;)

Jr High Masquerade Dance

What a hectic day! Gingerbread houses in the am, jewelry shopping after, home to get ready... I did get to chaperone this one too! My daughter & her friends wanted me to! (yay for me!) The girls looked so grown up & pretty! And the shoes?! Heels. Wow. How could a little girl walk so--- good in heels? Scary. Others, wasn't happening. Most took shoes off to dance & kept them off! I thought it may take a while for the kids to dance?? Nope. Happened from the start. Then... the slow songs came on.

Step one: Put your hands on my shoulders.
Step two: Put my hands on your hips.
Step three: Step side to side like robots, while keeping the 1.5 ft space between us at all times.

Haha! I had to laugh. It took me right back to middle school. They were all too cute! All the kids danced without having to be told "that's inappropriate!" I was happy! A teacher had told me she taught at another Jr. High & the way the girls danced?? I won't repeat word for word, but they should of had stripper poles in the gym. Not good.

Now, I'll talk about my little girl: Graciella. She looked too pretty! She had the best time, as well as the other girls! Yes! Very first dance & it was a hit!!

Graciella & her bffs

Aren't they all too pretty? Time is flying by! (And my little girl finally grew over Turkey Day wkend!)

Poseidon Lives On

Yes Graciella has yet, another project. Many I have not posted, but there's never a lull in the school project department. I should really open a store & rent these puppies out! Can I do that on Etsy?? This project though, will get framed & hung up somewhere at home! She wants to add sparklies to different parts of it when it does make it back home. She did a good job too! That night of 'glue-ing' it all? I went straight to bed about 8:30 that nite. I think it was right after soccer & I was exhausted! But her mosaic came out as she wanted. And this... is very important folks. =)

What do ya think? Wanna borrow someday? heehee

27 Dresses

Graciella's FIRST Jr. High Dance is coming up quick! And bcuz we have SO-- much time, we have to shop in a day, more or less. So 27 dresses didn't happen only about ten but four were not worth taking a photo of. (Graciella let me know this!) So here's the run-down. Leave us a comment telling us which YOU would choose for her! I had a few faves but I left it up to her. (sort of)

Forever 21: black lace

Dillards: gold sparkle

Dillards: pink zebra

Dillards: red bling

Dillards: red sparkle

Dillards: black ruffles

Can you guess which she chose?
I wish I could of bought about 3 & actually HAD somewhere for her to wear them to! She had tried one of these on & my eyes teared up! haha! She looked so pretty & it hit me that my baby was growing up!!
