Defining a Moment

All I can say is 'Wow' w/some tears. It made me think of things I wanted to change, wish I could change & just honestly, take each day w/each new day. My life as I know it, is truly hectic. That part of me, I do not like. I love to think back to my childhood days & think how I used to be outside ALL day & play w/my friends. Times have changed, but even now, my girls do not have time to sit & do HW. Sad, but true. In fact, that is why my 11 y/o is home now. She choose to skip soccer tonite & do her HW. This is a good thing but the other two? At soccer.

I came across this video just a few mins ago & wanted to share. Also, the essay she wrote for it. Beautiful.

WHAT I WOULD TELL HER: (If I knew what to say.)
You are a miracle.
And I have to love you this fiercely: So that you can feel it even after you leave for school, or even while you are asleep, or even after your childhood becomes a memory.
You’ll forget all this when you grow up. But it’s okay.
Being a mother means having your heart broken.
And it means loving and losing and falling apart and coming back together.
And it’s the best there is. And also, sometimes, the worst.
Sometimes you won’t have anyone to talk to.
Sometimes you’ll wonder if you’ve forgotten who you are.
But you must remember this: What you’re doing matters.
And you have to be brave with your life so that others can be brave with theirs.
The truth is, being a woman is a gift. Tenderness is a gift. Intimacy is a gift. And nurturing the good in this world is a nothing short of a privilege.
That’s why I have to love you this way. So I can give what I have to you. So that you can carry it in your body and pass it on.
I have watched you sleep. I’ve kissed you a million times. And I know something that you don’t, yet:
You are writing the story of your only life every single minute of every day.
And my greatest hope for you, sweet child, is that I can teach you how to write a good one.

**Her name is Katherine Center & you can click HERE is visit her blog. Amazing. What did you think of this video?

I bought Leleanna a towel/potholder set a few wks ago & had made this apron from one of her towels: :

Reversible too! My mama was happy =)

I had to go to the Cardio dr this am for a Stress test. I had asked when I scheduled it, 'do you want my girls to be there for this?' haha! Wasn't sure how the results would turn out, but I did okay & didn't fall over from the treadmill. This is good. My ultrasound & the test results were ALL good. Yay for me! It was just to check me out bcuz of all that happened in Jan w/my migrane/head deal in Tucson.

Have a good nite all! xo

Baker's Needed

(Not really) Leleanna was such a great helper! She cracked the eggs (successfully w/no shells in bowl), poured all the ingredients & stirred until thoroughly mixed. She even helped w/pouring the batter into the pan & sprinkling the cinna mix.

For some reason, I'm liking APRONS! I love the vintage ones. Vintage fabrics as well. But also Amy Butler, Heather Bailey , Michael Miller, & Moda. Lele's apron is from Gramma. It was hers from yrs ago. I made this apron for a woman w/Amy Butler fabric. It's also lined.
