First Day

Wow! It's here! My baby went & left me. She'll never come back! =( I so didn't think I would cry AT ALL sending her off today. Besides the fact, it must of been 125 out! Or felt like it & it was real muggy! All us parents were dripping w/sweat...Nasty! Yuk! But the girls looked cute!!

Antonia, Leleanna & Graciella

Savannah, Graciella, Alexxis & Sydney

Graciella & Antonia were dropped off first. They start school at 11am. Me & Lele met back up w/them a few mins later & the whistle blew. My lil ones were officially in 3rd & 6th grade! =( Next, Lele & I walked over to her bldg & she played for a few mins, whistle blew, kiddos lined up, parents called their kids' names to take photos...sounded like the paparazzi!! Her teacher handed us this paper & I thought it was for Lele. I'll get back to that in a sec, but the line of our babies began to move & so did that lump in my throat. She turned the corner, out of sight now, beginning a new chapter of her life. =)

My eyes teared up a smidge on my way back to the car. I waited for the air to kick into ICE COLD & started reading this blue paper:
The First Day
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with him for five years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
to leave him at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love him as I would my own
And help him learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly the years do pass
and that one day soon it will be my turn
To take my child to class.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love him and take him in
When you leave him at my door.
That's ALL it took! The tears flowed & my heart hurt. And Lele was in a classsroom & NOT with me. I had asked her that am too, what am I gonna do without you?! She would just smile & laugh, as she hugged me. After I got myself to stop crying, I called Jeannie & we went to lunch! Whew! I needed that mommy-time! We hit Starbucks & Bagel Nosh. YUM! After talking to my bff, I felt better. I had lots to get off my chest! ha!
